SOLD-1933 Art Deco Green Guilloche Sterling Silver & Crystal Vanity Jar

A beautiful green guilloche enamel lid tops this antique (hallmarked 1933) English vanity jar made by Lanson Ltd. The lid is of sterling silver and the jar is of beautiful cut crystal glass. Guilloche is a decorative technique in which a very precise intricate and repeating pattern is mechanically engraved into an underlying material (in this case sterling silver). This lid has great optics to it with a beautiful glow as the light hits it from different angles, giving it a three-dimensional wave effect which radiates from a triangular form.

This piece is a stunning example of the genre and it is excellent vintage condition with no noticeable flaws, and makes a wonderful trinket or jewellery box, or a glamourous storage option for a dressing table.
